A Dance

Wednesday 26 December 2007, by Bhuchung D Sonam

A lone yellow leaf
nods on a brown branch
a soulful scene,
wind blows
the leaf detaches,
the pale yellow leaf
dances in the air
a swift foxtrot,

the wind rests
the dance ceases,
the pale yellow leaf
falls on the dry earth
a tiny munch
for the stray little goat.
